This is a graph of the SP500 (in red) vs some of the largest "food" companies on earth... together the top 100 control less then 5% of the global retail?
I was particularly interested in how "costco" was doing as the "second" largest retailer on earth as well as the UK's "tesco" a large food company. It maybe that they are doing a lot better then the SP500 however "larger and larger" food companies are "not working" in europe... and soon "too big" maybe a problem even for the food giants?
Of the top 10 retailers many of them are really related to foods.. and even amazon purchased "whole foods" as its largest acquisition?
Walmart is maybe 4x or even 5x the size of Costco and Costco is a very large company!?
