The most promising projects I've found are Ripple(XRP), Tron(TRX), Holochain(HOT), Stellar(XLM), Steem and EOS.
But these companies are simply standards of excellence within the space.
All of which have made major progress over the last two years on their second layer blockchain applications, as well as big name partnerships with companies like Microsoft and IBM.
