Using this as a bookmark to see how a potential mean reversion setup in S&P 500 futures plays out.
In this morning's video, I talked about the risk shifting to the downside in the short/intermediate-term for equities and other risk assets. Using this test of resistance in many of the major indices to get short and look for a move back towards the low of the day. Reward/risk is about 4:1, and the risk is well-defined against the highs of the last hourly candle....
Using this weakness and the major indices trying to dig in here to look for a move back towards the top of their range. Using this failed breakdown on the 5-minute chart to define my risk and as a catalyst to get some upside going.
Taking a quick look at the levels that have been relevant for Gamestop $GME intraday since Friday. Super interesting take on trading and how markets behave. Not trading it, just observing it as a barometer of market risk appetite.
In this video, I outline the characteristics of environments where I'm looking for mean reversion and rangebound trades. I define what constitutes a rangebound market and how I should trade these setups from an entry, stop, and target perspective. This is part of an effort to more clearly define my trading plan so that I only need to focus on execution during...
In this video, I outline the characteristics of environments where I'm looking to buy subsequent breakouts for a day/swing trade. I define what constitutes a breakout and how I should trade it from an entry, stop, and target perspective. This is part of an effort to more clearly define my trading plan so that I only need to focus on execution during market hours.

In this video, I outline the characteristics of environments where I'm looking to sell strength within an already established trend for a day/swing trade. I define what constitutes strength and how I should trade it from an entry, stop, and target perspective. This is part of an effort to more clearly define my trading plan so that I only need to focus on...
In this video, I outline the characteristics of environments where I'm looking to sell initial breakdowns for a day/swing trade. I define what constitutes a breakdown and how I should trade it from an entry, stop, and target perspective. This is part of an effort to more clearly define my trading plan so that I only need to focus on execution during market hours.
In this video, I outline the characteristics of environments where I'm looking to buy a pullback within an already established trend for a day/swing trade. I define what constitutes a pullback and how I should trade it from an entry, stop, and target perspective. In this video, I discuss the different performance between leaders like the Russell 2000 + Nikkei 225 and laggards like the S&P 500 and German DAX, as well as what's driving it. I also update my thesis on the upside breakout on the S&P 500 and how I'm looking to trade it if/when we get a move above 3815-3817.
The Nikkei 225 continues to show relative strength and has one of the cleanest absolute trends of the global indices I track. It's already breaking out ahead of the US and European indices, which suggests to me we could see them follow it higher in the next day or two. If you're trading the equity indices --- keep your eye on the Nikkei 225 for clues.
The S&P 500 futures are trying to get above the top of their range at 3804. The last hourly candle closed above it and we're seeing relative strength from the Russell 2000, Nikkei 225, and other indices here in the US and around the globe. Testing the waters here if I can get an entry at 3805 and look for upside towards 3855 over the coming hours/days. My stop is...
Getting long a little base breakout after the major indices stabilized above VWAP after the Globex open. Russell 2000 and Dow leading to the upside, with laggard Nasdaq 100 reclaiming support and S&P 500 still somewhat messy. Looking for a short-term trade here. Long small size (2 contracts) from ~3798. Already out of 1 at 3804 and moving stop to breakeven on the...
Looked for a bounce intraday as the Dow, Russell 2000, Nasdaq 100, and S&P 500 came into their respective support levels. Got a good entry on 4 contracts and ended up stopping myself out basically flat. The market then started moving without me --- I "revenge traded", chased it, and immediately stopped myself out for a $25 loss after realizing I had no plan for...
Looking for some continuation of the rally since the cash open. Need to see a breakout above 3804 to confirm that, so I've got a buy stop in above that level with a stop just below the recent low and a target of 3820. If it doesn't trigger, all good. Will wait for a cleaner setup to develop. Max position size based on the current reward/risk is 6 contracts, but...
Break of globex range to the downside. As long as prices are below 3790 this breakdown is intact. Using a stop slightly above that level at 3792 with a target at Friday's lows near 3773.
