Japan's stock market declined after closing trading on Friday due to a fall in shares of enterprises in sectors such as paper and pulp, rail and real estate.
At the close in Tokyo, the Nikkei 225 index fell 0.74%.
Best at the Nikkei 225 session, stocks of the country's largest Internet portal Yahoo (NASDAQ: AABA) Japan Corp. showed their worth. (T: 4689), which rose 4.30% or 19.0 points to 461.0 at closing. Shares in fiber and textile producer Toyobo (T: 3101) added 2.48%, or 37.0 points, to 1,529.0, while Chugai Pharmaceutical (T: 4519) rose 2.46%, or 390.0 points, to 16,245.0.
