Inflation will come in waves / spikes during different quarters for different reasons. There was an industrial input commodity spike recently and there will probably be a consumer goods spike this winter. It's unlikely that the FED will increase interest rates with short term boosts in what will be unsustainably high inflation levels in certain sectors. A broad term interest rate hike would be bad for the economy as a whole.

Likely good to rely on Fiscal policy on a smaller scale. For example; agricultural subsidies if this drought continues for certain things. Coffee likely to be affected by Ethiopia war so maybe US should invade Columbia for oil idk. JK.

Anyway, inflation creates uncertainty and most importantly supply chain uncertainty. Probably continued elevated VIX levels could make selling covered calls on non volatile assets a good idea for 401k.

White line is historical average gain of S&P and if it's up 18.5% ish by halfway through the year assuming huge whole scale inflation then I think there's probably some good short possibility somewhere. Maybe processors/chips.
Comment:
Maybe natgas/rent spike this winter.
