1. People keep asking me: "when will the bubble burst?"
But my answer still is, "Bitcoin isn't a bubble". Maybe as a young creation, it still reacts strongly to its market. On the bottom right, GOLD 0.79% is charted in yellow. Bitcoin in blue. Despite the size of the swings, trends move in the same direction. Considering that gold 0.79% can be traded with margin, leverage of 100x already places it on crypto-level of volatility from an investor's point-of-view.
2. The first thing we need to ask is why both assets would move in such a similar way. Bitcoin was accused of being insecure, and the bubble from Mt. Gox burst, ending up in a cryptowinter. But during the same time, Gold 0.79% also fell into a 3 year downtrend. Why anyone would keep attacking the same market behaviour in different lights is anyone's guess.
I would like to ask the reader to think beyond terms of what is expensive now. For that, I will use ETHUSD -0.55% . The charts plot ETHUSD -0.55% since it was added to major exchanges. I first bought ETH in december. When it dropped from 8 to 7 USD, it felt like a rock dropping.
In hindsight, readers would kill to get some 7 dollar ETH. For all we know, and with what we expect, ETH could be hitting 5000 next year around this time. The drop from end of year left people cold with 50% drops. Then it did a similar curve to the year previous. After choosing a settlement price of 300, which was foreshadowed since May due to price action, ether has been oscillating in that range.
3. Which takes us to the last question. Should the pattern repeat near end of year, with a drop of 50% be enough motivation to miss out on another logistic curve? If it happens of course. But if that worries you, you are probably on the side of the increasingly nervous investors waiting for a certain bubble to crash. Our crypto are 50% down, if that isn't enough, and the recovery goes 1000%.
4. Be it Zcash or Ethereum , Monero or EOS 0.07% , crypto won't move like you expect gold 0.79% to do. Unless you want to do day-trading, the best time to get into crypto is now.
