I myself got fooled by we should be on the gold standard "which we kind of are" if you understand what is going on behind the scenes...
Gold and silver are not pegged to the dollar now though.
What I have come to realize over the years is the ingenious of the bankers.
Why did they want off the gold standard?
To create a gold and silver market to profit off of.
You too can do the same and follow the money.
That's really all this was. If Gold and Silver were the money they had to be pegged to gold back notes.
If they were assets they would "print money". (FED backed notes)...
They needed a market that was noncorrelated to the stock market.
They could use the FED backed notes they accumulated selling GOLD and SILVER to scoop up equites for cheap and own majority stakes in Corporations. Then control high positions in said companies and manipulate the Politicians through back room deals and bribes. All while driving the prices of equities up via legislation like QE and Stock buy backs.
Then sell these assets at the opportune time and drive Gold and Silver up.
Rinse and repeat.

This monthly Bitcoin ChART is as bearish as it could be. That MACD is calling for a collapse and an ultimate run under the baseline. RSI will grind under 50 and head to 30 on the monthly... This network could go to the dustbin of history.

I'll admit I have been 5 years early. I have been expecting this for 5 years. So have many OTHER. But markets can stay irrational longer than one can stay solvent.
