According to news on June 17, Uniswap founder hayden.eth posted on social media that he would like to apologize to anyone who feels uneasy about Uniswap’s use of the terms open source and available source, and agrees that the term available source is more accurate. In his personal opinion:
· BUSL is the best choice for the Uniswap community;
· BUSL w/guaranteed GPL change date is quite different from other proprietary licenses, closer to open source;
· Fully understand some people who disagree with the above content;
· If the UNI holder disagrees, it can be changed to GPL through a governance vote;
hayden.eth added that it is the freedom of the participants to contribute to the BUSL code, and if the participants think they can make a significant contribution but want to get paid, they can try to apply for a grant. Open source build V4 is definitely better for the ecosystem and all the projects built on top of it.
