The Mining segment consists of the BME business in South Africa, and also provides raw material and other supplies to Mining International. The Chemicals segment supplies especialty and industrial chemicals, technical and product application support and SHEQ-related services including water, agricultural, industrial, and life sciences. The company was founded by Willem Tobias Marais Sr. in 1953 and is headquartered in Sandton, South Africa.
