NKE - Low Conviction Play; Triple bottom; Caitlin Clark PlayI bought some $92.5 call options with Sept 20 expiration. The premium is fairly low on these contracts, so the pay out is really high. That potential high payout is basically the only reason I am taking a shot here. Like SPRC, anything not a high conviction play is smaller, and insignificant in comparison to the BTC, IREN, and Cannabis plays. On the charts, it appears it’s possible this is a triple bottom. The 2nd bottom didn’t form much of a base and lost steam early on the leg up, before we have now bottomed here on their third leg down. Nike has now dropped 48% since the top in Nov 21 and is lagging the moves here. Despite this drop, they have beaten earnings in 14 of their last 15 quarters. The last 3 quarters were by 24%, 22%, and then 30% in their latest update for the period through February. Earnings aren’t until Jun 27th and are for the period through May. The volume has been drying up, and if this is to go my way, I think it bounces soon. It’s been nearly a month, since we bottomed out and this level held resistance for the 3rd time. I feel like this is a pretty good entry level here near the bottom, and if things break down unexpectedly, i can get out. I typically only date young stocks, so this trade is outside of what i’m usually look for. What got me into this trade was watching a Chris Camilla’s YouTube video and then reading his book. After studying his investing philosophy, I started thinking about the things in my life. I then thought about how Caitlin Clark has been going viral recently and thought if there was any way of potential capitalizing. As everyone knows, Caitlin has now re-signed with Nike with the big blockbuster deal. With everyone knowing about it, wouldn’t this news be priced in already? Not necessarily. These institutions like to accumulate their positions over several months, but we should find out shortly. I’m not sure her sales move the needle much with only 44% of Nike’s revenue coming from the US and this is primarily a women’s product. However, with the internet, Caitlin is now bigger than just the US. I have had normal every day people from Asia messaging me about her, having watched her clips on social media. Her Iowa nike shirts have been selling like crazy through March Madness and her Indiana Fever jerseys sold out within a hour after being offered. "Fans have gone crazy for Clark even before her epic 2024 NCAA March Madness championship run, snapping up her official record breaking Nike T-shirt just as fast as they can be made. Now that Fanatics has released the official Caitlin Clark Indiana Fever jersey, most sizes of the first-run batch have already sold out." All of these jersey, hoodies, t-shirts on fanatics are nike and the Indiana Fever jerseys are nike. Women's NCAA numbers skyrocketed and the Women’s Championship game had more viewership than the mens’ for the first time in history. I look for Caitlin’s start to the WNBA season on May 14th to lead to increase viewership as well. I saw someone say that she is the Taylor Swift of women’s sports. And that seems to be true right now. She has captured the attention of my entire family and even friends of the family. Nearly every young girl who watches sports is going to have a Nike jersey of hers. And when she releases her new shoes? They are probably going buy those too. Why not launch some casual ones, slipper, etc, and not just basketball shoes? They are going the Jordan model and use this with her. It’s possible Caitlin will usher in a whole new generation of women basketball players and they will be wearing Nike. In general, I am bullish on women’s basketball and Caitlin could be instrumental in its growth. On the heels of the Women’s Tournament, a lot of people are going to be drawn to the WNBA to start this season, and now because of this, they will now get to watch not only her, but a young and very talented Vegas team, a loaded NY team, and some young and upcoming stars for other teams. Hopefully a few of the new viewers will stick around. So I look for Nike to have a hot start here with WNBA and hopefully Caitlin will play well, so she can make it to the Olympics and then Nike can really showcase her. I’m skeptical of her defense, lazy passing, and shot quality, plus she is going to get everyone’s best defender every night and you know they will want to lock her rich-famous-hasn’t-done-shit-ass up. It’s definitely going to be tough on her as a rookie, but a guy can hope, and if not it sounds like she will play in the 3 on 3. So there is the Caitlin move, but then there’s the Olympics too. Nike is going all out making this Olympics It’s largest media spend: "This Olympics will be our biggest ... it will be our largest media spend," Heidi O'Neill, president of consumer, product and brand at Nike said in an interview. "This will be the most investment and the biggest moment for Nike in years," she added, without putting a figure on the amount of spending planned. In Nike's latest quarter, total marketing expense was $1 billion, up 10% on the same period last year. Asked whether spending will continue to ramp up, O'Neill said marketing was "the number one priority investment" for the company. Nike in general is focusing on "fewer, bigger" marketing campaigns, she added. The $139 billion company hired a new chief marketing officer at the end of last year as it seeks to bolster its brand in an increasingly competitive sportswear market. If Nike and Caitlin can nail these next few months, then maybe I can too. Just Do It. Just Do it. Just Fucking Do it. -bettingbillionsLongby bettingbillions3

Nike Set To Lay off 740 Employees at Oregon HeadquartersNike, the world's leading sportswear manufacturer, has announced its plans to lay off around 740 employees at its global headquarters in Oregon. This move aligns with the company's cost-cutting strategy, which was disclosed in December 2023, with the aim of saving $2 billion over the next three years. The second phase of layoffs is expected to commence by the end of June 2025, as the company looks to scale back on specific franchises amidst an uncertain demand scenario. In compliance with the legal obligation, Michele Adams, Nike's Vice President for People Solutions, has notified the state authorities that the second phase of layoffs would begin at the company's headquarters. Earlier in February, Nike had indicated that it would cut around 2% of its total workforce, which equates to over 1,600 roles. As of May 31, 2023, the company had around 83,700 employees. Despite the announcement, Nike's shares rose marginally in after-hours trading, although they have declined by nearly 13% this year. Several companies in the U.S. and Canada have announced new rounds of layoffs to curb costs in the face of an uncertain demand environment. In March, Nike warned that its revenues in the first half of fiscal 2025 would shrink by a low-single-digit percentage. The company's decision to downsize its workforce is part of its strategy to rein in costs, as it navigates through a challenging business environment.by DEXWireNews1

$NKE bulls are in dangerNYSE:NKE is breaking down under a MAJOR multi-YEAR trendline (white) extending all the way from late 2017. This trendline was support and is now resistance. This week, NKE bounced off September 2023 lows and is now the rising white trendline which is acting as resistance. Bearish setup - if NKE continues to break down the first level of support is at 88.66 which is the September 2023. Interesting, flow indicates traders bought short-term and medium-term $90, $91, and $92 puts. The next major level is October 2022 lows at 82.50. Indeed, flow indicates that $168,265 worth of October 2024 puts were bought on April 10th, 2024. Bullish setup - if NKE can reclaim the rising white trendline and base above it this would be bullish and signal a false breakdown. If this occurs, the primary target is gap fill of the March 2024 earnings gap down at ~$100.79. Indeed, on Friday April 12th, a trader sold at bid $1.31M worth of April 19th, 2024 puts. Another trader bought $61,500 worth of September 100 calls. Weekly RSI and Williams %R are extremely oversold suggesting NYSE:NKE has the potential to rally if it reclaims the rising white trendline. by KevinJamesHughes2

NIKE - Just Buy It!Nike tends to have corrective phases every now and then. We are now seeing one of the biggest corrections to date. We could be correcting in excess of 50% which would put us in a great position to buy Nike for the longer term. Nike is the world's largest supplier of athletic shoes and apparel and a major manufacturer of sports equipment, with revenue in excess of US$46 billion in its fiscal year 2022. In other words, its very unlikely that Nike will go bust and so any dips should be seen as a buying opportunity. Our first point of interest is the structure level at 80. Ideally we break below that in accordance Elliott Wave Theory. We want to see wave C go below wave B. Our ideal buy zone is the 60 level where we have the -27 fib extension. Once we come towards that region, we'll be looking for any bullish price action indicating a reversal and the start of the next massive bullish leg. If we go even lower than 60, then it's more of a reason to buy and load up! We're looking for targets of atleast 200% as first targets. This trade is one to hold for the long term. What do you guys think? Goodluck and as always, trade safe@by WicktatorFX1125
nike long idealong position on nike , although I realize that opening a position in the middle of a triangle is not at all ideal, I could dare to anticipate a head and shoulder pattern with a target close to the maximums, obviously the uncertain situation on interest rates could influence the trend. $NKE - potential for significant upsideNYSE:NKE Nike looks attractive to me as it has revisited the lower trendline. There is a risk that it could fall to $87. Long-term Triangle PatternNike is getting close to the apex of a 4-year triangle pattern (where price inevitably breaks one way or the other). For now, I'm just watching for a certain setup to potentially trade on. If it breaks down out of the triangle (which it is currently threatening), it may find support around the 200-mo. EMA, which would be a better price to start a position. That said, it could certainly find support here but there isn't much upside to the top of the pattern (unless it breaks out).by PatientContrarianUpdated 1

Nike Faces Stock Tumble Despite Earnings Triumph 📉Nike ( NYSE:NKE ), the athletic apparel powerhouse, saw its shares take a hit in after-hours trading despite outperforming expectations in its third-quarter fiscal 2024 earnings report. While the company reported robust revenue and profit figures, it issued a cautious outlook for the first half of fiscal 2025, sending ripples through the investor community. The Numbers: Nike's third-quarter revenue climbed to $12.43 billion, surpassing analysts' projections, accompanied by an earnings per share of 77 cents. However, the elation was short-lived as the company forewarned of a low single-digit decline in revenue for the first half of fiscal 2025. Reasons Behind the Decline: Chief Financial Officer Matthew Friend attributed the anticipated revenue dip to the company's strategic shift in its product portfolio towards innovation. This pivot, while essential for long-term growth, poses short-term challenges, particularly amidst a subdued economic landscape globally. Global Market Dynamics: Nike's performance across different regions depicted a mixed picture. While revenue in Greater China showed a modest increase, the EMEA segment witnessed a decline, reflecting the complexities of navigating diverse market conditions. Olympic Hopes: With the upcoming Summer Olympic Games on the horizon, Nike is banking on several product launches and marketing endeavors to captivate consumers. The event presents a pivotal opportunity for the brand to showcase its latest innovations and amplify its brand storytelling. Strategic Adjustments: Nike ( NYSE:NKE ) is taking proactive measures to align its product offerings with evolving consumer preferences. This includes reducing the supply of classic footwear models in favor of newer, innovative products that resonate better with modern consumers. Investor Reaction: Despite the positive earnings report, Nike's stock experienced a significant drop in after-hours trading, signaling investor concerns about the company's near-term revenue outlook. The stock plummeted to its lowest levels since last October, reflecting the apprehension in the market. Outlook: Nike navigates through short-term headwinds, its focus remains on driving innovation and capturing market opportunities. The success of its strategic initiatives, coupled with the buzz surrounding the Summer Olympics, will be closely monitored by investors in the coming months. In conclusion, while Nike's earnings beat underscores its fundamental strength, the stock's post-earnings dip underscores the challenges ahead as the company charts its course in a dynamic marketplace.Longby DEXWireNews116
NKE dumped after earnings, what next?Analyzing NKE I find that the long term downtrend is still not managing to reverse, but is showing some signs. Now I would look for what short timeframes do around the 88.66 level, if they do not become divergent there and break the low, I would look at 82.22. If we do not have a clear weekly divergence there, it means NKE is not able to become bullish in the long term, and will dump further and further, until we print a real weekly div.by MagusTrading112
NIKE BULL AFTER EARNINGS 120Nike’s stock looks bullish over the longer-term after breaking up from a falling channel pattern on the daily chart1. If Nike receives a bullish reaction to its earnings print and remains above the 50-day SMA, the eight-day EMA will cross above the 21-day EMA, which would be bullish1.
