TA doesn't work with leveraged ETNs, yea yea. $SVXY hitting resistance soon.
Technical analysis using lines and projections is futile in all the VIX derivate products.... If you want to try and project anything you are looking at an arc, not a line. Anyway you can see where SVXY is going. Time will tell if I am right. My guess is will be right. :-)
With the nested setup I see in SVXY and also the fact that the number of long setups are FAR exceeding the short setups, I must conclude that the correction is now over
If volatility continues to decline, this instrument will experience tailwind. I'd like to get a starter position here in anticipation of more volatility decline.
... for a .36/contract debit. Ordinarily, calendars in VIX or VIX derivatives just plain don't work. This is due to a variety of reasons, not the least of which you're just plain paying too much in extrinsic value in the long-dated option. Additionally, the standard calendar is usually set up on the call side of things in anticipation of call side movement and...
My gamble of the year. Small position and taking a bet on this Accum/Dist divergence . These ETF/ETN's went crazy the last 2 days in a very confusing way. Putting some YOLO money in this to see what happens.
If this doesn't look like a #proshares inside job, I don't know what is. Everyone lost huge, even though we are seeing VIX decline today. Noone deserves this. Lawsuits soon for sure, especially due to the fact #proshares decided to resume trading, unlike XIV. What a mess.
Well after a nice bounce from then 650 lows that I saw last night to the high of today at 750 I think we will finally get to see the bottom in the next couple of days. My fib levels indicate a price target of 550 however if it breaks that the next level of support that I have is around the 230-220 level. After that I expect we'll have a couple of days of choppy...
So as we all know, the $SVXY ETF's panic mode was activated after hours on mon 2/5/18 causing a, to put it lightly, TREMENDOUS sell-off in after hours trading. If SVXY opens down around the current levels, I am willing to bet that the the SVXY ETF will not remain 'broken' and will be 'fixed', so to speak, and retrace much of its after hours move (my guess is to...
After record low after record low for VIX, it looks like time for a spike!
I've done several posts on how and when to mechanically short volatility with VXX, UVXY, and VIX short call verticals and SVXY short put verticals with the focus being upon an entry when the VXST/VIX ratio is greater than 1.00 and (ideally) higher.* You can naturally wait for those events to occur and then do one of these "one-off" plays with a set expiry,...
... for a 1.03 credit. I put this on "on the fly" on Friday. Basically, I'm looking to get a credit equal to max loss with these, so I put this in-the-money short put vertical on for a 1.03 credit with a buying power effect of .97 (risk one to make one) with the notion that contango* will erode the position running into expiry ... . Notes: Will look to "money,...
