The underlying fund invests directly in physical gold stored in a Toronto vault under the custody of the Bank of Montreal (BMO). The product structure reduces the difficulties of buying, storing, and insuring physical gold for investors. NAV for the fund is determined using the LBMA PM Gold Price, so the prices reflect the current spot market values, priced in USD. The fund utilizes derivative instruments to hedge foreign currency exposure of the underlying fund back to the Canadian dollar.
