Minerva S.A. is engaged in the slaughtering of livestock and processing of meat; the sale of chilled, frozen and processed meats, and the exporting of live cattle. As of December 31, 2016, the Company's industrial facilities had a daily slaughtering capacity of 17,330 heads and a deboning capacity of 3,154 tons. The Company's segments include Live Cattle and Meat. The Company is engaged in the production and sale of fresh beef, live cattle and cattle byproducts. The Company also has operations in the beef, pork and poultry processing segments. The Barretos unit has a beef processing line (cubed beef and roast beef). Its subsidiaries include Minerva Industria e Comercio de Alimentos S.A. and Mato Grosso Bovinos S.A., which are engaged in the slaughtering of cattle and processing of meat; Minerva Dawn Farms S.A., which produces and sells beef, pork and poultry products, and Minerva Comercializadora de Energia Ltda., which is primarily engaged in electric energy commercialization.
