Indices Asia-Pacific

The stock indices of the Asia - Pacific region measure the various national equity markets. Well-known indices from this continent are the Nikkei 225 (Japan), the Nifty 50 (India) and the S&P/ASX 200 (Australia). The Nikkei 225 is a price-weighted stock market average for the Tokyo Stock Exchange, whose components are reviewed yearly. It´s followed around the world as the premier average of Japanese stocks and many financial products are linked to it.

The Nifty 50 is a market capitalization weighted index for the National Stock Exchange, representing 13 sectors and 65% of the free float market capitalization of all stocks listed on the exchange. Its futures are actively traded. The S&P/ASX 200 is a market capitalization-weighted index for the Australian Securities Exchange based on the largest and most liquid stocks that represent about 80% of the Australian equity market capitalization. It is followed around the world as Australia’s leading stock index.
