Bitcoin Cycles so far

BITSTAMP:BTCUSD   Bitcoin
My friend Moggs has asked me to have a quick look at past and possible cycles for Bitcoin, My name is Martin but this is not my account.

I work as an analyst for an economic company in London. I am Austrian but have lived in the UK for 8 years.

It has been remarkable looking at Bitcoin, to say the least.

Having a quick look the cycles can not be graphed as a prolonged movement because Bitcoin has not been around long enough. If 5 cycles had been charted to date it, of course, would give more scope.

However, the above chart in a perfect world would be reasonable BUT with Bitcoin now having futures attached to its trades and from what I have read today no real regulation, in my honest opinion, the charts could look very different.

Futures are well known to disrupt smaller asset classes, with Bitcoin only having a small market cap globally, it would be very easy for institutions to " play" with it.

If Cryptocurrency can one day in the future achieve 2 trillion at least in its cap then it would be less easy to manipulate. It is very volatile and while it is so, whales will use this in longs and shorts. if it loses its volatility then you may see Bitcoins bubble burst. The regulation will, of course, do this. Exciting times for you all

Gold, for example, was once a speculation market ( and still is) but now is very much tired to futures.

I quickly looked at the last 6 months and I can see that Bitcoin is respecting the bottom trend lines, however, the bottom trend line is not a certain as you can see from early trading there IS room below that CAN be tested

Bitcoin needs adoption, it could be an interesting year. It definitely has some walls to climb

Adoption
Futures
Regulation

Best of luck
