Systems need to operate. So software companies made an industry out of it. Now it's worth about 500bn. Not bad. These include companies that fall under the umbrella "software as a service" (SaaS) - producing but not limited to information technology, cloud data services, cybersecurity, communication software to its users. Needless to say, as the future pivots to new modes of working, travelling, conducting business, and communicating, companies offering innovative software have ample room to grow.
